NEWS: Burna Boy and Stonebwoy, will be the headliners of Afrochelle Festival 2022.

The organizer of the annual Afrochella Festival, Culture Management Group, has named West African popstars Stonebwoy and Burna Boy as the headliners of this year's edition, which will take place on December 28 and 29 in Accra, Ghana.

Burna Boy and Stonebwoy, whose 2022 has been defined by major releases and worldwide tours, have been nominated among other big-name Afrobeats performers such as Fireboy DML, KiDi, Ayra Starr, Medikal, and DJ Juls, among others.

According to the organizers, this year's edition, themed Afrofuturism, will "reflect on the past, explore the future, and chart a constructive route for the contemporary African diaspora."

“As we embark on another year of celebrating African culture, Afrochella will bring Afrofuturism to life through our core elements of music, art, fashion and food,” Afrochella co-founder and CEO Abdul Karim Abdullah said. “We will explore the endless possibilities of what Afrofuturism could look like in 2022 and beyond.”

"As one of Ghana's most recognized cultural occasions, this year we have the exciting task of inviting 20 000 tourists to the nation," said Afrochella co-founder and chief operating officer Kenny Agyapong Jr. We intend not only to fulfill this aim, but also to make Ghana the premier destination for all travelers worldwide."

The Afrochella Expo, which will include a number of digital experiences, films, and panel discussions on culture, technology, health, sustainability, music, and art while linking the diaspora to industry leaders and changemakers, is another activity designed for this year's event. Another is the Rising Star Challenge, which provides new artists with Afrochella performance places as well as cash awards and a studio session with an established producer.

The other events include Fashion Night Out, an evening celebrating African fashion innovation, the Afrochella Music Museum, which will feature live performances, art installations, digital and printed imagery, and the Afrochella Talks series, which will focus on African business, music, food, and creativity.
