Nana Akufo Addo, the president of Ghana, has been accused of utilising a musician's work without permission to promote the nation to tourists.
Kirani Ayat, an afrobeat singer, stated on Twitter that he approached the Ministry of Tourism in 2018/19 to use this video. GUDA attempted to promote tourism in Ghana's northern region but was turned down.
Sep 27, 2022 Ayat slammed the president after he uploaded a promotional video on Twitter to promote the nation to tourists.
The president of Ghana has used my video “GUDA” in this ad to promote Ghana. I was actively reaching out to the Ministry of Tourism in 2018/19 to use this video to push tourism in the North and got NO reply, yet today it’s in an ad and no one reached out to me for permission. 🤦♂️ https://t.co/vLnAP0bRqf

The singer also stated that he worked as a security guard from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. seven days a week for three months to save money for his music video production costs. Various award shows passed it up, the ministry ignored it, and I reached out a couple of times to no effect. 'I was depressed throughout that time,' he said.
I worked 7 days a week from 7PM to 7AM for 3 months straight as a security guard just to save up to make this “GUDA” video possible. Various awards shows snubbed it, the ministry ignored it, I reached out a couple time to no avail. I was depressed throughout that period.

Ayat continued by claiming that after spending thousands of dollars creating a music video for the single banger GUDA, he needed money for marketing and, with no support from anybody, he sold his SUV to market the video worldwide, and he still owes YouTube commercials as a result.
FYI After spending thousands of dollars to shoot the video for #GUDA I needed money for promo, with no support from anywhere, I had to sell my SUV to promote the video worldwide, even today I still owe YouTube ads cause of it.
