Lasmid Nathaniel Owusu, popularly known as Lasmid, has officially departed from Highly Spiritual Music, according to recent reports. The CEO of the record label, David Kojo Kyei, commonly known as Kaywa, confirmed the artist's exit during an interview on Adom TV's Showtyme with Andy Dosty.
Kaywa revealed that discussions about Lasmid leaving the label had begun even before the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Night. While hinting at a deeper story behind the artist's departure, he expressed the need to respect the audience and promised to disclose the complete truth at the appropriate time.
Exclusive information obtained from a reliable source suggests that Lasmid had valid reasons for leaving Highly Spiritual Music. After winning the MTN Hitmaker competition, Lasmid was under a managerial contract with Kaywa, which had expired prior to his hit song "Friday Night."
According to the source, Kaywa had only rented a two-bedroom apartment for Lasmid, costing GH₵26,000. Surprisingly, Kaywa himself was reportedly unaware of the apartment's location. It is alleged that after the success of "Friday Night," Kaywa presented Lasmid with a contract that the artist described as "wicked." Lasmid sought the advice of an entertainment lawyer, made modifications to the contract, and presented it back to Kaywa. However, Kaywa refused to accept the revised terms, leading to Lasmid's departure from the label.
Lasmid's departure from Highly Spiritual Music marks a significant turn in his musical journey. Despite the challenges faced during his time with the label, Lasmid's talent and unique sound have gained him a loyal fan base. As an independent artist, he now has the opportunity to explore new creative avenues and establish himself further in the music industry.
While awaiting further details and official statements from both Lasmid and Highly Spiritual Music, fans eagerly anticipate Lasmid's next moves and the musical contributions he will bring to the table.
