NEWS: Sarkodie Misses Detroit Event Due to Delta Flight Catastrophe.

Accra, Ghana - In a surprising turn of events, a Delta Airlines flight bound for the United States of America had to make an emergency landing on Terceira Island in the early hours of Saturday. The flight, Delta 157, departed from Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Friday, September 9, 2023, at 22:00 GMT.

The emergency landing was prompted by an oxygen malfunction that occurred five hours into the flight. Passengers onboard were informed by the flight crew that the oxygen issue was due to a technical challenge. Despite its intended destination being John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States, the flight had no choice but to land at Lajes Air Base International Airport on Terceira Island.

Among the passengers was Ghana's celebrated rapper, Sarkodie, who was en route to Detroit for a scheduled event. Unfortunately, the emergency landing led to the cancellation of his performance, leaving the artist and fellow travelers frustrated.

The pilot addressed passengers, explaining, "We did have an oxygen malfunction, a crew oxygen malfunction in the cockpit. It necessitated us to divert. This was the closest suitable airport, so that's why we are here. No other reason other than the fact that this was the closest suitable airport."

Passengers were assured that the airline was actively seeking maintenance assistance to rectify the issue and, if possible, continue the journey later. The crew also arranged for passengers to be taken to a small restaurant at the airport for comfort items while they waited for updates.

Sarkodie took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with Delta Airline for disrupting his show and criticized the airline for its poor communication regarding the incident. Passengers, meanwhile, remained patient as they awaited further information on the situation.
