NEWS: Meek Mill Announces Intent to Obtain Ghanaian Citizenship, Citing America's Oppression.

Renowned American rapper Meek Mill boldly expresses his aspiration to attain Ghanaian citizenship, attributing this decision to his frustration with what he perceives as systemic oppression faced by Black individuals in America hindering their growth. The announcement unfolded in a tweet dated March 4, 2024, where the Philadelphia-born artist passionately stated, "I wanna get citizenship in Ghana!!!! America made to tear black men down if you don't follow orders!"

Meek Mill's bond with Ghana flourished after his stellar performance at the Afro Nation music festival in December 2022. During his visit, he graced the Jubilee House, engaging in a meeting with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Despite facing public scrutiny for filming segments of a music video at the governmental seat, Meek Mill extended a sincere apology to the Ghanaian people. Undeterred, he continues to express his deep fondness for the country, indicating a keen interest in collaborating with local musicians.

The rapper, presently entangled in controversy following allegations in a lawsuit filed by a former employee of Sean 'Diddy' Combs, vehemently refutes any involvement in the accusations. Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones, in the lawsuit, implicated Meek Mill in a list of redacted names allegedly tied to intimate encounters with Diddy. Meek Mill has taken to social media to staunchly deny these claims, suggesting a concerted effort to undermine his accomplishments as a Black American.
