NEWS: Sean Kingston Booked in Broward County Jail on $1 Million Fraud Charges.

Singer Sean Kingston was booked into Broward County jail in South Florida, where he and his mother, Janice Turner, are facing accusations of committing over $1 million in fraud. Kingston, 34, was arrested in California in May on fraud charges and extradited to Florida. The Jamaican American performer is expected to face a judge on Monday.

Turner, 61, was also arrested on May 23 following a raid at a mansion in Southwest Ranches that Kingston rents. Prosecutors allege that the mother-son duo orchestrated an extensive fraud scheme, stealing money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, and furniture.

According to arrest warrants from the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Kingston and Turner have been charged with conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, identity theft, and related crimes. The warrants detail that from October to March, they allegedly stole nearly $500,000 in jewelry, over $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from an Escalade dealer, more than $100,000 from First Republic Bank, and $86,000 from a customized bed maker.

Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, is currently on two years' probation for trafficking stolen property. His mother has a prior conviction for bank fraud, having served nearly 1.5 years in prison after pleading guilty in 2006 for stealing over $160,000.

Kingston gained fame with his 2007 hit "Beautiful Girls" and collaborated with Justin Bieber on the song "Eenie Meenie." In May 2011, he suffered serious injuries in a personal watercraft accident in Miami.

Correction (Monday, June 3 9:34 a.m. ET): An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the date of Kingston's arrest. The story has been updated to reflect the correct date.
