Nigerian music fans are buzzing after Wizkid dropped what many are calling a subtle jab at Burna Boy. On October 10, 2025, the Grammy-winning Afrobeats star shared a mysterious message on Snapchat, saying: “Lion dey chop wild animal, gorilla dey chop banana.”
The post immediately went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with fans linking the “gorilla” reference to Burna Boy’s famous “African Giant” persona and his past gorilla-themed banter. Many believe Wizkid was taking a dig at his longtime rival, reigniting their rumored feud.
This isn’t the first time tension has brewed between the two. Back in 2022, Burna Boy dismissed Wizkid’s claims about his influence in the industry, and fans have since pointed out subtle shades exchanged in interviews and tours.
Although the pair once collaborated on the 2020 hit “Ginger,” their relationship appears strained once again. Both artists currently dominate Spotify’s 2025 Afrobeats charts, adding fuel to the competitive fire.
As of now, Burna Boy has not responded to Wizkid’s post but fans are eagerly waiting to see if he will clap back.
