Ghanaian entertainer Mike Akox is set to headline a live music showcase at The Gold Coast Restaurant & Lounge in Cantonments on Friday, November 13, as anticipation continues to build around his growing popularity on social media.
The performance will see Akox take the stage alongside the Signature Band, promising an evening of live music and energetic entertainment at one of Accra’s established nightlife destinations. The event is scheduled to begin with a gate fee of GH¢50, with reservations strongly recommended.
Akox, who has earned the nicknames “The Showman” and “Ragga” among his growing fanbase, has recently attracted considerable attention on TikTok and Instagram, where clips of his performances have generated conversations about his stage presence and showmanship.
His growing appeal appears to span generations, drawing younger audiences impressed by his energetic delivery and older music fans who appreciate his theatrical approach to live performance.
His performances have also sparked comparisons with celebrated entertainers known for their distinctive stagecraft, including Ghanaian musician Terry Bonchaka, Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and American funk legend James Brown.
“The things Mike does on stage are completely eye-catching and impossible to forget,” one fan wrote in a viral TikTok review, reflecting the enthusiasm surrounding his performances.
A Significant Stage for Akox
The upcoming showcase places Akox at The Gold Coast Restaurant & Lounge, a venue known for its live music offerings and premium dining and nightlife experience.
Located at 32 Fifth Avenue Extension, Cantonments, the lounge has hosted a range of established Ghanaian and African music acts over the years, including Daddy Lumba, Kwabena Kwabena, Samini and Stephanie Benson, alongside live music outfits such as the Nkyinkyim Band and Adaha Dance Band.
The venue’s reputation as a destination for live band performances provides a fitting setting for Akox, whose growing profile has been driven in part by his commanding stage presence and audience engagement.
With the Signature Band accompanying him, the performance is expected to combine live instrumentation with the high-energy delivery that has become central to his appeal.

Patrons attending the November 13 event can look forward to an evening of live music, vibrant rhythms and entertainment in the lounge’s Afro-urban setting.
