NEWS: Ghanaian producer Nektunez signs with Akon’s Konvict Kulture

US-based Ghanaian music producer Nektunez has inked a managerial partnership with Akon's Konvict Kulture music label.

The news was made public today and the development is expected to help expand Nektunez’s brand within Europe and US markets. He will also benefit from the Senegalese-American musician and entrepreneur’s wide-ranging experience in music management, which led to the launch of the careers of global artists like T-Pain, Lady Gaga, and Kardinal Offishall.

Akon will provide professional expert services aimed at projecting and propelling Nektunez to the next phase of his career under the Konvict Kulture brand.

Konvick Kulture is one of three major recording labels founded by Akon, the others being Konlive and Konvict Muzik.

Born Noble Eli Zogli, Nektunez has worked with top Ghanaian musicians such as StonebwoyWorlasi and R2Bees. The new deal follows the international success of his amapiano remix of French new-age musical project Era. The offering, featuring Nigeria’s Goya Menor, debuted at No7 on the Billboard Afrobeats Chart.

Boasting over 10 billion views on Tik Tok, the song remained atop the Billboard World Digital Sales Chart for eight weeks. It also peaked at No1 on the Global Shazam charts, also holding the No1 spot on iTunes in 22 countries, including UK, Germany and USA. The song also topped the Apple Music charts in 39 countries.

“I’m honoured to be able to add Nektunez to the Konvict movement”, Akon said. “I’ve never met a more humble, hard-working, and talented producer like Nektunez.

“I was even more impressed by his artistic talents! He represents the new Africa and I’m determined to show the world his contribution to the beautiful sounds of Afrobeats and amapiano”

Nektunez said: “I am excited to start my next chapter with Akon; someone I have always looked up to growing up. He shares my vision and has a passion for the brand of music I’m creating. I can’t wait to continue sharing my music on a global scale. Now it’s time to go to work and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.”
