NEWS: Beloved Rapper Tupac Shakur Finally Honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star 27 Years After Tragic Death.

Tupac Shakur, the beloved West Coast rapper who tragically passed away 27 years ago, was finally honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony, hosted by radio personality Big Boy, celebrated Tupac's numerous accomplishments in music and beyond. Despite his relatively short career of just five years, Tupac Shakur is recognized as one of the most talented and influential artists of his generation, having sold over 75 million records worldwide.

Various speakers paid tribute to Tupac during the ceremony, including Allen Hughes, director of the documentary "Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur," Tupac's sister Sekyiwa "Set" Shakur, Matt Fritch, the chairman of the board of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Jamal Joseph, a writer and former member of the Black Panther Party, and others. They highlighted Tupac's global impact and acknowledged that even though his time in the spotlight was relatively short, he had always possessed star quality.

The special guests at the ceremony included Mike Epps, YG, Mopreme Shakur (Tupac's stepbrother and fellow rapper), Money-B, and others. Tupac's star now joins the 2,758 others on Hollywood Boulevard. Although he was selected for a star by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 2013, it took a decade for the honor to materialize.

Allen Hughes emphasized the significance of Tupac receiving his star during the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, stating that it was a fitting tribute to the genre's most influential figure. In addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame star, Tupac was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. The Grammy Museum unveiled an exhibit dedicated to him titled "All Eyez on Me" in 2015, and in 2022, The Canvas @ L.A. Live hosted an immersive experience called "Wake Me When I'm Free," honoring Tupac's legacy as a rapper, poet, actor, and activist.

Sekyiwa, Tupac's sister, expressed her pride and described the star as the realization of Tupac's lifelong dream. She emphasized that it not only recognizes his contributions to the entertainment industry but also symbolizes his enduring impact even after 25 years. The unveiling of Tupac's star is a moment of triumph, honoring his unwavering pursuit of his dreams and his ability to transform them into reality.
