Alleged Accident Claims Life of Unidentified Woman.

Ghanaian rapper Edem found himself in legal turmoil as he was arraigned at the Kaneshie District Court for his involvement in a tragic incident on the George Walker Bush Highway. The incident, which occurred last Saturday around 2 a.m., resulted in the death of a 40-year-old woman, whose identity remains unknown.


Court Documents Detail Charges and Bail Conditions

According to court documents, Edem, driving a Honda Touring vehicle, faced charges of two counts of careless and inconsiderate driving and negligently causing harm. The court, presided over by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo, granted the 'Nyedzilo' hitmaker bail in the sum of GH₵50,000 with two sureties. Edem's plea was not taken during the hearing, and he is expected to reappear on February 15, 2024.


Management Team Addresses 'Near-Fatal' Accident Claims

In response to initial reports, Edem's management team issued a press statement, clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident. They described it as a 'near-fatal' accident, emphasizing that a 'naked' woman unexpectedly crossed Edem's path, leading to the vehicle overturning. The statement assured fans of Edem's safety and his commitment to cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.
