Meet Tsemi – The Ghanaian-Born Singer Making Waves with Afro-Pop Energy.
Tsemi is a rising Afro-pop artist with roots in Accra, Ghana. She’s the eldest of five siblings and grew up with dreams of becoming a doctor. But by age 10, she knew music was her true calling. Raised partly in Kenya and Paris, her early exposure to different cultures helped shape her unique sound and creative outlook.
She attended Association International School in Accra, completing the International Baccalaureate program. Today, she’s based in London where she studies Music Performance and Songwriting at BIMM University. Her journey into music began early—recording jingles at just 9 years old, and by 14, she was fully committed to her craft.
Tsemi grew up around music, with several cousins in the creative industry. Over time, her influences have evolved, but she names Sia as one of her earliest inspirations. More recently, she admires artists like Tyla and Rema for their ability to stay fresh while building lasting careers.
No two days are the same for Tsemi. Some days involve lectures, others are filled with rehearsals or gigs—but she embraces the busy lifestyle. She enjoys connecting with fans on TikTok Live and often responds to comments under her videos.
Like many artists, she’s faced challenges too. During a tough gap year, she stepped away from music completely, but later bounced back with the release of her single Sense. One of her proudest moments was performing at the O2 Academy in December 2024—a major milestone and her biggest crowd yet.
Outside music, Tsemi loves to unwind by playing Roblox with a bag of popcorn. She calls herself a simple person who enjoys peaceful downtime. Her music style blends Afrobeats and pop, with the energy and style of Amapiano—vibrant, confident, and uniquely her.
Looking ahead, Tsemi is working on a new Afrobeats release and collaborations outside her usual sound. She has big plans and is excited for what’s next. Her message to fans? “Thank you for supporting me and my music. You haven’t seen anything yet.”
