NEWS: Jennifer Lopez Sued for Posting Her Own Photos Online Without Permission.

Pop star and actress Jennifer Lopez is being sued for posting photos of herself online without asking for permission. The pictures were taken at a Hollywood party in January, just before this year’s Golden Globes, where she wore a white dress and faux fur coat.

Photographer Edwin Blanco and the photo agency Backgrid say they took the pictures and own the rights to them. But when Lopez posted the images on her Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) with the caption “GG Weekend Glamour,” she didn’t get their permission. The photos quickly went viral, showing up on fashion pages and fan accounts.

The photographer and agency argue that Lopez used the photos to promote herself, her outfit, and her fashion partnerships—basically turning the images into a free ad. They're now demanding up to $150,000 for each photo.

According to the law, just because you're in a photo doesn't mean you own it. The copyright usually belongs to the photographer or agency that took the picture, and anyone who wants to use it needs to get permission or pay a fee.

Reports say Lopez’s team was contacted about the issue, and they agreed on a payment, but she hasn’t signed the deal yet. So far, her team hasn’t responded publicly.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Jennifer Lopez has been sued before over similar photo issues, and other stars like Dua LipaGigi Hadid, and Khloe Kardashian have also gotten in trouble for posting paparazzi pictures without permission.
