Fast-rising Ghanaian hip-hop and melodic rap artist elvinthedon has announced the release of his first-ever studio EP, titled The Red Genesis, scheduled to drop on January 29, 2026. The seven-track project will be available on all major streaming platforms via TuneCore, marking a major milestone in the artist’s evolving career.
Born Elvin Kofi Barnieh Akotey, elvinthedon has built a reputation for delivering emotionally honest music rooted in real-life experiences. Blending hip-hop with melodic rap, afrobeats, and reggae influences, his sound reflects themes of struggle, faith, resilience, and personal rebirth. Signed to theDon Society, the Ghanaian artist continues to position himself as a voice for dreamers navigating doubt and adversity.
The Red Genesis is more than a debut project, it is a personal statement. The EP symbolizes rebirth after hardship, with “Red” representing blood, sweat, pain, and passion, and “Genesis” signaling a fresh beginning. The project, which took nearly three years to complete, captures elvinthedon’s artistic growth and emotional evolution through deeply reflective storytelling and confident delivery.
Production on the EP comes from Ayomz, Michael Fortune, Denowthatspoppin, and Inkonthatraq, each contributing to the project’s layered and cohesive sound.
At the core of the EP is the focus track “A Bitter Portrait,” a raw and emotional record written during one of the darkest moments of elvinthedon’s life. The song addresses betrayal, broken trust, and disillusionment, and serves as the emotional backbone of the entire project.
The EP also features collaborations with O’Kenneth and Reggie, whose appearances were driven by shared experiences and similar journeys. Their collaboration adds authenticity and depth, particularly on the celebratory track “Beautiful Anthem.”
