With his new album Timeless, Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has broken multiple Apple Music records.
The album broke the record for the most popular African album in Apple Music history in terms of first-day streams worldwide, and it debuted at number two on Apple Music's US Albums chart, a new high for an African album.
The album also broke the record for the most simultaneous Number One entries by an African album on Apple Music's albums chart.
With nine concurrent African songs on Apple Music's Global Daily Top 100, Davido set a new record.
The musician discusses the album's inspiration and offers exclusive insights into key tunes in a new interview as a guest host on Africa Now Radio on Apple Music 1, which will debut on Friday.
"The title of this record speaks for itself," Davido says of Feel.
"When I made this record, I had an out of body experience, like it took me to a whole other dimension. The feeling of this record, every time I listen to it... Bruh, it transports you to another planet."
Davido comments on the tune No Competition, saying, "I know the girls gon' love this... It's one of my personal favourites on the album. It reminds me of a song about wanting to dance on the dancefloor with your lady, with your lady, she's dressed to please."
"Any day one Davido fan listening, if you listen to this record, you would know this is a classic Davido type sounding record," Davido says of Away.
