NEWS: Sarkodie Admits Regret Over Controversial 'Try Me' Song Addressing Yvonne Nelson.

In a recent interview on the American podcast show "Way Up With Angela Yee," Ghanaian artist Sarkodie, real name Michael Owusu Addo, opened up about his song "Try Me," which addressed references made by Yvonne Nelson in her book titled "I AM NOT YVONNE NELSON." The book suggested that Sarkodie had been involved in an abortion. Sarkodie, known for keeping his personal life private, revealed why he responded to the situation with the song and expressed remorse over its unintended consequences.

During the interview, Angela Yee asked Sarkodie why he chose to address the matter through his music, despite usually avoiding public confrontations. Sarkodie admitted that he wasn't proud of what he said in the song. He explained that emotions got the better of him, leading him to express his feelings through music.

Contrary to popular belief, Sarkodie clarified that "Try Me" was not intended to be a diss track. He revealed that his team was against the idea of responding to Yvonne Nelson in this manner. Nevertheless, driven by strong emotions, he decided to record the song without consulting his management. Unfortunately, the track was leaked, resulting in unforeseen consequences.

Sarkodie emphasized that he believes in open communication to resolve conflicts. He expressed frustration with people thinking they can say anything about him without repercussions, which motivated him to address the situation through his music.

Recounting the circumstances surrounding the recording of "Try Me," Sarkodie disclosed that he was on tour when the incident occurred. To keep it discreet, he secretly entered a studio and recorded the song without informing anyone, including his team. He wanted his response to be genuine and unaffected by outside influence or advice.
