NEWS: Baba Sadiq Responds to Stonebwoy’s Lawsuit: Out-of-Court Settlement Would Have to Come from Him.

In a recent interview with Joy Prime, Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, founder of 3Music Networks and a parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), addressed the possibility of an out-of-court settlement in his legal dispute with dancehall artist Stonebwoy.

The dispute, which has captured public attention, arose after Stonebwoy filed a lawsuit against Baba Sadiq, alleging defamation and seeking GH₵3 million in damages. The suit was triggered by tweets from Baba Sadiq that Stonebwoy claims were malicious and damaging to his reputation.

When asked by Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli about the potential for resolving the matter outside the courtroom, Baba Sadiq was clear: any move towards settlement must come from Stonebwoy. "It won’t come from me; it would have to come from him because he went to court," Baba Sadiq stated. He added that his legal team has already responded to the lawsuit, and they are currently waiting for the court’s next steps.

Baba Sadiq emphasized his confidence in the legal process, expressing a belief that the court would vindicate his position. He also noted that there are criminal proceedings underway, and any decisions regarding an out-of-court settlement would be evaluated by his lawyers.

Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Baba Sadiq remains unfazed by the controversy. "I don’t have regrets for anything; I just learn lessons," he said, adding that it is still early in the process to fully assess the situation.

Stonebwoy, who holds the title of Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, initiated the lawsuit on May 31. He claims Baba Sadiq’s tweets were intended to defame him, causing significant harm to his reputation.

As both parties prepare for the legal battle ahead, the entertainment and political sectors alike are closely watching the developments of this high-profile case.
