Ghanaian rapper O’Kenneth has officially released his debut solo album, Came of Age, marking a major step in his evolution from a key member of the Asakaa movement to a fully established solo act.

The 18-track project, which dropped on May 1, is already gaining traction within Ghana’s music space, with listeners highlighting its introspective themes, cohesive storytelling, and drill-driven sound rooted in Asakaa.

Came of Age reflects O’Kenneth’s artistic growth, blending his signature street-oriented style with more personal and reflective elements. Across the project, he explores themes of struggle, loyalty, pain, and resilience, offering a deeper look into his journey and experiences.

Known for his contributions to earlier group projects, including the Straight Outta Kumerica series alongside Reggie, O’Kenneth uses this release to establish his individual identity. He carries the majority of the album on his own, delivering consistent performances marked by distinctive flows and raw lyricism.

The album features a limited number of collaborations, with appearances from Kwaku DMC on “Far From Home,” 7Enron “Me Mpaebo,” and Chicogod on “Beetles.” The minimal features allow the project to remain focused on O’Kenneth’s solo performance while incorporating complementary contributions from fellow artists.

Early standout tracks from the album include “EASY,” “YIMAYƐ,” “BALENCIAGA,” “MO NTWƐN!,” as well as “PAIN II” and “PAIN III,” which continue themes from his previous works. The interlude “CAME OF AGE” further reinforces the album’s central message of growth and transition.

To commemorate the release, a listening event was held at Pera Lounge & Bar, drawing fans and industry stakeholders.

Came of Age is currently available on major streaming platforms, including SpotifyApple Music, and YouTube.

With this release, O’Kenneth strengthens his position within Ghana’s contemporary rap scene, delivering a project that underscores his artistic maturity and growing influence.
