NEWS: Kelvyn Boy Reveals Stonebwoy's Refusal to Reconcile Despite Five-Year Effort.

Ghanaian Afrobeat star Kelvyn Boy has disclosed that, despite five years of trying to reconcile, dancehall artist Stonebwoy has continued to reject his attempts at mending their relationship.

In a candid interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, Kelvyn Boy, whose real name is Kelvin Brown, shared that he and his team have consistently sought to resolve their differences with Stonebwoy, but to no avail.

“When it comes to me and Stonebwoy’s issue, I have been trying for the past five years to patch things up with him, but nothing has come of it,” Kelvyn Boy said. He admitted that the long-standing rift has persisted for so long that he can barely remember the cause of the conflict. “I have even forgotten what happened between us because it has been five years, and anytime I try to resolve our unsettled dispute, I don't think he is ready to listen to us, so I’ve just let it be.”

The once-promising partnership between the two artists began in 2018 when Kelvyn Boy was signed to Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group (BMG). Their collaboration on the hit track Na You brought them significant attention, with the song amassing over 1.3 million views on YouTube. However, by January 2019, their relationship soured, leading to Kelvyn Boy’s departure from the label. The fallout reportedly stemmed from misunderstandings during their time together, which many sources claim were fueled by what was perceived as disrespectful conduct on Kelvyn Boy’s part towards Stonebwoy.

At the time, Stonebwoy chose not to renew Kelvyn Boy’s contract, signaling the end of their working relationship. The split also contributed to the exit of Stonebwoy’s then-manager, Blakk Cedi, from BMG, further intensifying the divide.

Despite these challenges, Kelvyn Boy has remained vocal about his desire for peace. “Enough time has passed for us to settle our differences,” he remarked, expressing that the strain between them has gone on for too long. The Down Flathitmaker explained that he’s grown weary of the ongoing tension, and he’s ready to move on from the past. “At this point, I can even forget what led to the misunderstanding,” he added.

Interestingly, Kelvyn Boy revealed that, although Stonebwoy’s silence has been discouraging, he continues to hold immense respect for his former mentor. He praised Stonebwoy for his influence in shaping his career, even mentioning that it was Stonebwoy who inspired him to grow his locks, a symbol of their time together.

Music journalist Gabriel Myers Hansen, commenting on the matter, praised Kelvyn Boy for his consistent efforts to make amends, stating that it shows maturity and a genuine desire to resolve the situation.

While Kelvyn Boy has demonstrated a willingness to move past the acrimony, it remains unclear if or when Stonebwoy will respond positively to his former protégé’s peace overtures. Their relationship, once filled with promise, continues to be a topic of public interest, especially among their fans who once admired their collaboration.

For now, Kelvyn Boy appears ready to leave the ball in Stonebwoy’s court, patiently waiting for an opportunity to rebuild what was lost.
