NEWS: UK-Based Ghanaian Fashion Critic Fire Stick Blasts Entertainers for Chasing Sympathy Instead of Showmanship.

UK-based Ghanaian sneakerhead and fashion critic Emmanuel Sandyman  better known as Fire Stick sparked major conversation on X Spaces (formerly Twitter Spaces) this afternoon around 4:30 PM after delivering a passionate rant about today’s entertainers. He accused many of them of focusing too much on earning public sympathy instead of giving audiences genuine entertainment.

PREE ADMIRATION, NOT SYMPATHY! BE THE LIFE OF THE PARTY,” Fire Stick said, setting the tone for his fiery remarks.

He particularly mentioned Ghanaian music star Black Sherif, alleging that the artist often leans on his personal struggles to win sympathy rather than letting his talent speak for itself. According to Fire Stick, this approach takes attention away from what entertainers are meant to do uplift and excite people.

He compared this with international acts like Vybz Kartel, who has spent over 12 years in prison yet never sought pity from the public. “As an entertainer, you have to be the life of the party,” Fire Stick stressed, urging artists to turn their pain into passion instead of pleas for sympathy.

Fire Stick also applauded Ghanaian acts like R2Bees and Shatta Wale, saying that despite their humble beginnings, they focus on making vibrant, enjoyable music rather than highlighting their struggles. “They don’t dwell on their hardships they just make good music for fun,” he added.

His message was clear: entertainers should stop using emotional appeal as a marketing strategy and instead focus on their core purpose creating joy, admiration, and unforgettable performances.
